About Me
I love my job. I get to:
• Learn about other people and how the world works
• Distill information into clear, understandable chunks
• Swoop in and save the day!
I’m a professional copywriter with over fifteen years of experience. My academic training was in science, first in biology at Smith College, and then at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst for a Master’s in geosciences.
Frankly, it's an interest in way too many things that led me all over the world and into some interesting work, including public affairs at Johns Hopkins Medicine; regional agriculture promotion with the Cape Cod Cooperative Extension; a cool internship at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Lab; working to establish a farmers’ market in my town; and administrative/wastewater treatment support (yes, one job) for an integrated fish farm/basil farm. Not to mention the time bartending in England, identifying plants near beaver dams, and on and on…
The upshot is that I know a little bit about a lot of things.
And I’m also a great writer. (See? I’m confident enough to break the rules and start a sentence with “and” when it’ll be worthwhile for emphasis.) Now I take all I’ve learned and combine it with strong writing skills to help people in businesses, organizations and institutions complete writing projects essential to getting their jobs done well. And that’s enormously satisfying to me. (See? I did it again!)
So if you’re interested in talking about how I might be able to swoop in and save your day, get in touch.
